for the love of white paint

If you read more than three home décor blogs, there’s a good chance you’ve seen these sweet birdie votive holders from the Dollar Tree.

The Easter Bunny brought me a pair and I used a foam brush and some pure white acrylic paint to shabby them up a bit.

I brushed on a layer of paint, not worrying about totally covering the old paint job.

Once that was dry, I heavily dabbed more paint on to create a sort of stucco texture.

Easy peasy!

I’m pretty enamored with them.

As you can tell by the gratuitous number of pictures.

Please love me anyway?

I'm posting this to http://shabbynest.blogspot.com/2010/04/frugal-friday_22.html

Just for fun, what’s your favorite thing you’ve painted white?

Ooh! I'm going to have to visit the dollar store this weekend! (What is it about bird/nest/birdcage stuff that is so charming? I'm not sure, but I love it all!)

Hmm... my favorite thing I've ever painted white would probably be the frame on my chalkboard. It really made the chalkboard part stand out.

Hattie- those look so cute! My favorite thing that I have ever painted white is my plastic mirror frame. It was kinda scary before, but now I just love it!

Going to have to go to the dollar store tomorrow! So cute. White makes eveything to crisp and beautiful.

Tweet tweet, woot woot! Love this. I have a tie between two things I painted white. One was a small, hand-me-down cheap dresser that looked really, well, cheap! White paint and new knobs made it look totally better! The other is the mirror that you helped me to change from gaudy to classy with the help of white spray paint. What a fun memory. :)
